{info} manga editor's notes
Jun. 1st, 2013 08:59 pmSo, I adore meta and essays and all of that good stuff, and the English-language releases of the Evangelion manga are full of them. Specificially, Volumes 9 and 11 have excellent Kaworu-related thought fodder from the editor, Carl Gustav Horn, that influenced the way I play him a lot. And so I don't have to go dig up my volumes every time I want to find a bit (and because sharing is caring), I'm putting the relevant bits here.
The first is from Volume 9, on Kaworu through the lens of Mark Twain's The Mysterious Stranger.
( Volume 9 postscript. )
And from Volume 11, an essay on Sadamoto's interpretation of Kaworu versus Anno's as a far less innocent and ethereal being, experiencing the human condition as a sinner.
( Volume 11 postscript. )
